Book Review Magazine - 'Scrapbook' Edition

The concept for this design is an editorial magazine about books is publishing a special edition from the POV of a reader who has scrapbooked each book they read, this is a 3 page spread on Wuthering Heights. Inspired by the depth of original book, the asthetics of the then upcoming movie this project brought me the opportunity to play with type placement, stock curation and editorial design.
Process Work
Sketches and mood board get me started in the design process, i looked at examples of Punk Zine magazines with tactile layers of texture, big handwritten typestyle, unique composition styles, and mixed them with my subject matter. In the end I kept a lot of the structure ideas that I sketched out in the block compositions stage. Block compositions and rough drafts allow me to work out refinements before the printing stage.
